Animated or not, machines are at the heart of Joe Rush's work. If his sculptures are born from their dismemberment,

it is their ability to move that inspires him a mechanical art of motion.

Attentive to their rhythm, the vibration of a mechanical pulse, determined by their primary industrial function,

he metamorphoses machines by exploiting their capacity for movement.

Sculptural, mutant, turbulent, aerial or bestial, each of them performs with emotion in a mechanical ballet

of which he is the choreographer.
